Re-Aware

This collection was influenced by the environment and the issue of pollution. I have found that many people will care about for only a short period of time when they hear about one shocking statistic or event, then they forget about it and something else becomes important. To make a difference people must be continually made re-aware of the situation we are in in order to continually make efforts to change. This is told through the connection that the sports/industries of surfing and snowboarding have with the environment. They are so directly affected by the environment and how we treat it. Where branding graphics usually are usually prevalent on these types of garments, I have replaced with facts and statistics about pollution. I have also developed my own textile manipulation using plastic bags for embroideries. All these elements will can help bring the issue of pollution to the forefront of people's minds every time they see someone walk by
